Snowboarding. Modern snowboarding originated in 1965,
when an engineer came up with an efficient design that
allowed the user to surf downhill with some control of the
board. The board was put into production, and the increase in
popularity and dissemination took place after the organization of competitions. After being recognized as an official
sport, winter sports destinations gradually, although with
some resistance from traditional skiers, organized terrain
parks suitable for snowboarders.
