A gas chromatograph GC-9A (Shimadzu, Japan) equipped with a flame-ionization detector and with a data station Chromatopac C-R3Awas used. Fused silica capillary columns (30 m x 0.25 mm) coated with Supelcowax 10 and SPB-5 were used at operating temperatures of 2108 and 220 8C, respectively, with helium as the carrier gas and split ratio 1/30. Individual peaks of FAMEs were identified by the comparison of the retention times and equivalent chain length values
(Christie 1988) with those of authentic standards.
