The environmental impacts at the capture phase of TSRL modelled through our scenarios were substantially affected by the fisheries management decisions examined (Fig. 3, Table 4). Changing the fisheries management harvest target from maximizing the amount of catch (MSY) to maximising economic yield (MEY) reduced the footprint of the fishery across all indicators and improved fuel use efficiency by 2.7 L kg_1 (Table 3). Management for MEY reduced GWP by 10 kg CO2e kg_1 lobster or 80%, thereby reducing the relative importance of the capture stage in the environmental footprint from 42% to 12% GWP (Fig. 3). Changing the management focus to MEY improved CED by 152MJ kg_1 lobster or 80% at capture (Table 4).
