MDA MB 231, HeLa and TCC-SUP cell lines was evaluated and the results, given in concentrations that were able to cause 50% of cell growth inhibition (GI50), are summarized in Table 1.
A great anti-proliferative activity was observed for all the compounds even at the minimum concentration tested (0.5 mM). Compound 1 was found to be the most effective against all cell lines. This compound was also found to be active against other tumor cell lines, namely MCF-7 (breast cancer), NCI-H460 (non- small cell lung cancer) and SF-268 (CNS cancer) [19].
Compound 6 showed, within this set of experiments, the lowest activity for MDA MB 231; although for the other cell lines it gave values on the same range as compounds 1 and 3.
