The purpose of this study was to investigate the students’s misconception on the topic of derivative function. We examined in 46 Maejo University students who registered MA 131 (Calculus for science 1) in second semester of academic year 2012. The tools of this research were exercises, tests, and interview papers. We found that students have misconceived in the definition of limits, continuity of function, the definition of derivative and its basic calculations, associated with calculating concepts in form. Moreover, all misconceptions were described in details.
