Pakistan is the leading mango exporting country in the
world (Sauco, 2004) with premium product harvested from the plains of southern Punjab and Sindh province. The demand for high quality produce is on an increase throughout the world. So, an increase in the quantity and improvement in the quality of fruit is highly desirable in order to fulfill the international standards for export. A significant extension in post harvest life of mango is important to permit transport, distribution and commercialization to distant export markets.
