First, a hypothesis raised by Ramsay (2004) can be rejected. Ramsay (2004)
postulated that his discovered phenomenon concerning the use of a distributive
negotiation strategy in strategic partnerships could be considered locally demarcated
to the UK. As the empirical data show, this hypothesis can be rejected (the empirical
data were collected outside the UK). Subsequently, further statistical validation of the
rejection of this hypothesis should be carried out in order to investigate, whether or not
this phenomenon is a universal theme or a more delimited one and the possible causes
for the existence of such a negotiation strategy in the context of strategic partnerships,
besides those raised in this paper
