Optimization of conditions for microbial
extraction of chitin and chitosan
The conditions for extraction were optimized with
the effect of a combination of process variables
(factors) such as lactose sugar, yeast extract and
Fe (NO3)3 1% was added to fermentation medium
and their interactions on the response variable
were determined. The extraction of chitin and
chitosan and the determination of their
concentration were carried out as explained earlier.
