Stroke and TIA survivors experience difficulties in returning to leisure activity post- stroke, predominantly related to physical capability and lack of energy. The support of family and friends, healthcare and well-being practices could help to overcome these issues through the provision of practical and emotional support. The rehabilitation processes of stroke and TIA patients may consider these support mechanisms when encouraging a return to activity post-stroke. More work needs to be undertaken in how these consider- ations could be implemented, and how to help patients who many not be able to access such support.
