Have been around Vietnam, it is believed, since the Neolithic period. During the 11th century ceramics were in great demand for religious purposes with the popularity of Buddhism.
Woodcarving
Considered to be a peasant art, was until recently a hidden art within Vietnam. It was not until 1972 that the country realized the beautiful art hidden within it's country's homes.

Costumes
Traditional costumes of the Vietnamese people tend to be very simple and modest. Men wear brown shirts and white trousers. Their headgear is simply a piece of cloth wrapped around the head and their footwear consists of a pair of plain sandals.
The traditional four-panel dress
The four-panel dress, kerchief and flat palm hat with fringes (quaithao hat) creating the gracefulness of KinhBac’s women has long been one of Vietnamese traditional costumes. So far, the origin of the four-panel (aotu than) has not been known yet, however, the carved image of Vietnam’s dress with two flatting laps was found on the face .
