This study was an action research with the purpose to prepare a strategic plan
of Sittham Wittaya School. The researcher studied documents and research related to
strategic planning from the data sources of the Office of the Basic Education
Commission and research findings related to strategic planning process of schools in
various levels. The research population consisted of 60 students in Mathayom Suksa 4 -
6 of Sittham Wittaya School; 60 Mathayom Suksa 3 students, 6 administrators, 16
instructors, 5 school board members, 3 school managers that supplied students, and 2
school managers that received students who graduated from Sittham Wittaya School, all
of which were randomly selected from Phraparityattidham schools in Bangkok
Educational Service Area; 3 purposively selected personnel from the Division of
Buddhist Education; and 1 personnel from Bangkok Educational Service Area 1.
The strategic planning process consisted of 6 main steps: (1) analyzing factors
affecting decisions for further education of monks and novices; (2) analyzing the
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT); (3) setting the school
direction; (4) setting the strategy; (5) deployment of strategy; and (6) preparation of the
strategic plan. Research findings were as follows:
1. As a result of strategy setting, the school’s main strategy was determined, i.e.
the strategy of creating educational distinction.
2. As a result of strategy deployment toward practice, the following were
determined: the organizational strategy, 8 tactics, 7 projects, and 18 key performance
