13C-NMRspectroscopic analysis showed that the oxidized cells from the control showed contained
mainly α-1,3-glucan, whereas those from the β-glucansupplemented
culture showed an increase in β-1,3-glucan
(Fig. 5, Table 3). The results of the enzymolysis and NMR
analyses showed good agreement in terms of correlation
of β-1,3-glucan content with the carbon source in the
medium.
