Van de Ven and Engleman, 2004; Van de Ven and Poole, 2005), that in order to
understand how clusters develop we need to investigate events and the outcomes they
produce. According to Aldrich (2001), process-oriented research and explanations are
critical in developing an understanding of dynamic organizational processes. He
distinguishes two types of process research: event-driven and outcome-driven (Aldrich,
2001).
