Tell it as it is: As charming as Becks can be, there are a few moments that stick in my mind where Beckham told it as it was. The most famous one that sticks out is a match in LA where Beckham got grief from a fan to the extent that he jumped the advertising boards and demanded the fan come down to the pitch and have the argument out face-to-face. Not that I’m agreeing with Becks’ slightly confrontational approach to that situation but in the business world everyone faces similar situations where open and honest conversation (heated conversation sometimes too) is necessary and often helps put everyone back in a healthy position, often avoiding a long a drawn out negative atmosphere.
