Gumroad enables creators to sell directly to their audience — so that they can make a living doing what they love. Getting paid is simple; you should never have to think about it.
Every Other Friday
Gumroad pays its sellers every other Friday via Direct Deposit (for US-based creators) or PayPal (everyone else). We do not have a firm timeline in place for when will be able to issue direct deposits to countries other than the US. Follow the Gumroad blog to be notified when we do!
As long as you have $10 in your balance, you will be paid in the next payout cycle. We pay out every other Friday, for all sales made up to the previous Friday.
Payments can take 1-5 days to process, so if you don't see anything in your account on Friday morning, hang in there!
For Example...
Let's imagine that your payout date is on Friday the 12th. On Friday the 12th, you will be paid for all sales you made up until Friday the 5th, as long as you made over $10 before the 5th.
If your sales occurred on Saturday the 6th, you will be paid two weeks after the next payout date, which is Friday the 26th.
Setting up Payouts
All of your payout information can be found and edited by going to your Payout Settings.
If you are based in the United States you will have to use ACH as your payout method. You will need to provide your bank account number and your routing number; if either of those are incomplete or incorrect our attempt to pay you will fail and your funds will be returned to us.
If you are based outside of the United States your only payout option (for now) is PayPal. If you have a PayPal account please ensure that you have confirmed your account with PayPal or you will not be able to receive the funds we send to that account.
Restrictions & Clarifications
There is no way to split payments between yourself and others on Gumroad right now. If you wish to pay out your partners, you have to do it after you are paid by Gumroad.
We do not have a firm timeline in place for when will be able to issue direct deposits to countries other than the US.
You do not need a Business PayPal account to be paid by Gumroad. A personal PayPal account is sufficient to receive payouts.
You can set up your payout settings by visiting your settings. You can view when you'll next be paid in your Balance tab. Your balance is listed in USD($), not your local currency.
Fees
We believe in honest pricing. We take 5% + 25¢ per transaction. We don't charge any additional monthly, hosting, or setup fees. Everything is covered–file hosting, file downloads, payment processing, payout deposits, customer support, analytics. We even cover dispute fees, which are regularly $15 and above with other payment services.
For example, if you sell a digital video for $10, you'll make $9.25 — inclusive of everything. Check out our pricing model to see how you'd fare.
Understanding The Balance Page
You can see when your next payout is, fee details, and the respectable (and hopefully sizeable) amount you'll be paid over at the Balance Tab.
You can access this anytime while logged into Gumroad by clicking Balance at the top of your Gumroad homepage.
On your balance page, you can see how much you've made in the past week, the past 30 days, and since you began selling. Click Total to get a detailed rundown of how much each of your products has contributed to your total profit.
Your upcoming payout date details how much you will be paid, and Gumroad's fees, as well as any taxes you may have to pay, if you have set your sales tax to be calculated. Your balance and its corresponding fees are listed in US Dollars ($), regardless of the currency that you sell in, so don't be alarmed by any discrepancies if you charge in Australian or Canadian dollars.
The first row of your payout information shows you when you will be paid, and for what period of time this money is coming from.
We then show you how much you made, how much has been deducted from these sales due to refunds, the Gumroad fee (5% + $0.25 per sale), and U.S. sales taxes, if you are calculating them. In the bottom row, we list your payout destination and how much you are being paid.
For more detailed information on this period of time, you can go to your Analytics tab and inspect the sales and associated fees that you made during this pay period. Learn more about exporting sales data here. If you feel that there is a discrepancy between your sales and payout, please let us know.
