To pursue public health improvements taking into account
ecological principles, has led us to review the evolution of the
field of environmental impact assessment, including improvements
in understanding and valuing ecosystems, especially
conceptual modelling. Such knowledge can then be used
to operationalize the ecological public health approach as we
move forward.
In this paper, we use the terms conceptual model specifically
to refer to the core formulations of decision support methodologies
(e.g. the Driver-Pressure-State-Impact-Response, or
DPSIR model), while we refer to conceptual framework to identify
the comprehensive set of data and models applied.
