Health Minister Jack Snelling yesterday inspected the inpatient and intensive care rooms as associations representing public hospital doctors, GPs, nurses, midwives and ancillary staff criticised the government over its plans to close the Repatriation General Hospital and downgrade local EDs.
The State Government has allocated an extra $176.6 million to transition from the current hospital to the new RAH, while it juggles plans including downgrading Modbury, Noarlunga and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital EDs.
He said the patient rooms at the new RAH had been planned, designed and built around the needs of the patient and reflected international best practice in hospital design.
