Well, first of all, this isn't a book of Dilbert cartoons. It's a self-help book -- O no, excuse me, a motivational autobiography -- but wrong-footed no matter what you call it. I love Dilbert as much as every other right-minded minion on the planet, but when 100 reviewers deliver 100 five-star reviews of a book that any sane human would relegate to the remainder bin with a through-punched hole in its corner, then you know that Dogbert has taken over, and not for the good of our species.
The problem with "How To FAT" isn't Adams' writing, which remains as graceful and witty as ever. But the messages in this book are banal, and even insulting, to any moderately aware reader. Much as I enjoy your cartoons, Scott, I do not need you to tell me which vegetables to eat. And neither does anybody else.
