Counseling Intention: To help a client accept personal responsibility for his or her own feelings.
Description. Aloud have the client make a statement describing personal feelings, and then add, “I take responsibility for it.” For example, if the client often feels helpless, he or she might say “I feel helpless, and I take responsibility for it.” Other feelings that can be the object of this exercise are boredom, isolate, rejection, feeling unloved, and so on.
