my dd plays for IVA, circle city prior to indiana vb academy. Circle city is a mizuno club, so she had been wearing tornado. she actually had back spasms toward the end of the 07 season. In 08, we moved to IVA, which went with adidas. She used the vuelo, but her back problems continued. my dd is an elte player and desnt get a lot of time off from vb. This hs season her team used asics gel 1120 and her back issues continued. i took her to a chiropractor who told me she needed more support from her shoes. he recommended gel insoles for her vb shoes. this year, IVA switched over to a new brand in the US, vb rags, as supplier for all vb gear-including ther new vb shoe. before the club made the decision, they asked my dd and several others in the club to test the new vb rags shoe for a couple of months. the girls swear by the shoe, and all i know is my kid is no longer hurting. vb rags's new shoe features what they call a "gel-activity-based-insole" (GABI). It provides superior cushioning and arch support, along with excellent stability & light weight. i am one who likes to stick to name brands, normally because you get what you pay for (this shoe is actually expensive, with a retail price of $95). But, i will go with whatever works for my dd and for her, this new shoe is working better than any other one she's tried, and she's tried them all. In short, IVA switched to the vb rags shoe and all 300 girls will be wearing it this season. This is not a brand endorsement but rather a genuine tip from a parent who's vb dd has suffered more than her fair share in search of a product that will help her. i guess my point is go with whatever works for your kid, regardless of brand.
