Logistics researchers tend to focus on the transportation, distribution, and
warehousing perspective of SCM, while operations management researchers emphasize
buyer-supplier cooperation and information sharing to minimize waste. Furthermore, it
should be noted that the SCM practices may be influenced by contextual factors, such as
the type of industry, firm size, a firm’s position in the supply chain, supply chain length,
and the type of a supply chain. (Li et al., 2006, p. 119). As the concept of SCM is complex
and involves a network of companies in the effort of producing and delivering a final
product, its entire domain cannot be covered in just few studies and published measured
items do not imply that they are correct across national boundaries and cultures. Calls for
more research in this stream are needed
