2.3. Mathematical model for the water absorption by the cultivars
The mathematical model of Peleg (1988) was used in the study
of corn grain hydration as shown in Equation (1). k1 (min.g/g) and
k2 (g/g) are the constants of the model, t is time (min), X(t) is the
moisture content of the grains in dry basis (g/g) at a known time,
and X0 is the initial moisture content in dry basis (g/g).
