If you have received a specific email asking you to respond with housing details, then you need to reply. Otherwise, housing that has been reserved for you will go to other students who respond first.
Overcrowding is not in your best interests, even if you wish to save money.
Sharing a bed with another participant is not appropriate and the U.S. State Department and/or Intrax would not allow this.
If you have been offered housing by Intrax, then we encourage you to accept housing options.
When possible, Intrax has made specific housing options available through your host company or through our own search on your behalf.
However, if you decline an Intrax accommodation, then it is your responsibility to find housing that is appropriate.
While Intrax is committed to assisting you with housing, we are not a rental agency and are not able to take special requests. We make a genuine effort to assist with safe and affordable housing.
We must stress that you need to have at least $1,000 upon arriving in the United States (even if your housing is fully booked and pre-paid).
If you find yourself without sufficient funds, then Intrax will work with your agency in your home country to get you home safely, since your wellbeing is of the greatest importance.
It would be a shame to travel so far only to return home within a few days due to insufficient funds.
