This survey is to identify and prioritize effective factors on consumer buying behavior toward industrial bread in Mashhad.
The research was conducted in Mashhad metropolitan area. Cochran’s formula (for finite population) and simple random
sampling method have been used to determine sample size of the research. Confirming validity and reliability of
questionnaire, it was used to collect data. This research adapted descriptive and inferential analysis methods (chi-square
and Friedman test) to analyze data by using SPSS 20. Results of the survey revealed factors influencing consumer
preference for industrially-produced bread as follow: perfectionist consumer, price conscious “value for money” consumer,
brand conscious consumer, confused by over choice consumer, novelty and fashion conscious consumer, habitual-brand
loyal consumer, consumer awareness of benefits, matching consumer’s taste and consumer accessibility.
