Personal Information
Non started to fence in Thailand when he was 9 years old. He became the youngest Junior National Champion at the age of 14. Once moved to the United States, he continued to fence under the U.S. Junior National Coach and trained with members of U.S. National Fencing Team during his years in high school. In high school, representing Rochester Fencing Center and the Thai National Team, he won many North American Cup medals, both at junior and senior levels. After high school, he was offered a scholarship at Pennsylvania State University where he acted as a team captain and led his team to multiple National Championship titles. During his time at Pennsylvania State University, Non received multiple honors from the United State Coaches Association, which awarded him four First Team All-American Titles during his four years at Pennsylvania State.
After finishing his college career, Non returned to New York, and trained with the U.S. Olympic Team under the head of U.S. Olympic Men Foil Program. At the beginning of 2007, he moved to Germany and trained with the German Olympic Team in Bonn in order to prepare for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. After winning the Olympic Qualifier in April 2008, he became the first foil fencer from Southeast Asia who qualified for the Olympic Games. After the Games, Non moved to Singapore where he currently works as a coach at Blade Club. He is still an active member and a team captain of the Thai National Fencing Team.
Non is a multiple South East Asia Games Gold medalist, having won golds at all of the last 4 consecutive SEA Games. His highest ever world ranking was 26, and is easily the current top Men's Foilist in South East Asia.
