TWO frightening terror threats have been made to high-level targets in western Sydney today — one at a police station and another at a popular shopping centre.
Police are investigating a letter sent to Merrylands police station threatening police, non-Muslims and Jews, accompanied by a photo of an Islamic State fighter with several severed heads.
This follows a security threat made on social media towards the Westfield shopping centre in Penrith.
A police source said the threatening letter to Merrylands police station, believed to have been received yesterday, was “non-specific” and was being investigating by counter-terrorism officers.
