In our experiment, with respect to the μ-XAFS absorption spectrum for different zinc sources, although all different zinc sources were zinc compounds, the zinc chemical states of different zinc sources were different. The curve for organic zinc (ZnMet,ZnLys) were similar. The curve for ZnSO4 was distinctly different from the other two zinc sources. The main reason that the zinc environments of the three zinc sources were different, and their compositions were also significantly different. Christensen et al.(2004) reported that selenium levels in feed is assessed with synchrotron radiation. Five kinds of in organic selenium (þ4 price, þ6 price) and organic selenium (SeMet,0 price) samples were selected. The XAFS spectra of selenium were measured and the XAFS spectrum peak was extremely sensitive to the valence state of Se(0, þ4, and þ6). The XAFS spectra of different selenium valence states can be separated well. Our results were in agreement with previous studies. Zinc K-edge absorption values for organic zinc (ZnMet,ZnLys) were smaller than in organic zinc (ZnSO4). The greatest K-edge absorption values of ZnSO4 was detected during three zinc sources. which is consistent with ZnSO4 concentration.
