Pha That Luang and it place in Vientiane Pha That Luang according to the Lao people was originally built as a Hindu temple in the 3 century. Buddhist missionaries from the Mauryan Empire are believed to have been sent by the Emperor Ashoka , including Bury Chan or Praya Chanthabury Pasithisak and five Arahata monks who brought a holy relic of Lord Buddha to the stupa. It was rebuilt in the 13 century as a Khmer temple which fell into ruin.
Pha That Luang also be a landmark of countr y, the independence, and a sovereignty. Relics have been built in the 16 century this relics are build not the same as another relics because it is a blend of Buddhist architecture and an architecture of the empire.
Nowadays, Pha That Luang resemble a fortress because has built up a large balcony surrounding the stupa. and also made a small window around a relics, the entry gate is a big wood gate that lacquer red for whole. In addition, around a relics also surrounded by many small l stupa around. When walk to look close will see a lot of symbol that represents the sacred of Buddhism appear , whether a king of Nagas carving , Buddha gilded lotus petal emblazoned on the base fortnight , and next to the big entry gate about 100 maters will see a King Setthathirath statue stand on a high pedestal , the hand he holds the sword lying across the thighs. Told that , this made the sword to protect Pha That Luang which is considered the heart and soul of all the people of Laos.
Pha tha t Luang or Phra Chedi chulamni is an important place of Sajjan Vientiane and Laos People's Center across the country. According to the legend says that the capital has a history of millennia the same construction as Phra that phanom in Thailand Thai. This place can be considered as an importan t symbol of Laos . It appears that the coat of arms of Laos is now a relic as President of capital in seal.
