3.1. Growth and survival
At the end of the 56-day feeding trial, weight gains were high in
shrimp fed 1, 2.5, and 5 mg zingerone (kg diet) 1, and lowest for
shrimp fed the diet without zingerone supplementation (p < 0.05)
(Table 2). The FE followed the same general pattern as the weight
gain. After 56 days of raising shrimp on the experimental diets, no
significant difference was observed in the survival rate among
treatments (Table 2). The survival rate of shrimp ranged 96.7%w
93.3% among the treatments, and the growth was typical of shrimp
reared under research conditions.
