Mother Ping Ping feeds her newborn piglets.
The Zoo has the Vietnamese potbelly pigs to demonstrate natural deep bed pig farming techniques promoted by His Majesty the King for people to raise pigs in a healthy and natural environment.
The Zoo now has 18 of the popular pig breed that first became famous in the 1980s as pets due to their small size, intelligence and cute appearance making them ideal for apartment living. The Vietnamese potbellied pig has a pattern on its body and gets no larger than 60kg and around 2 feet long. The newborn piglets are ready to be viewed by children visiting the zoo’s special section.
