Results: compared withbaseline,thedecreaseinthevisualanaloguescoresofpost-therapynauseainthegingergroup
was significantlygreaterthanthatforthevitaminB6group(p ¼ 0.024). Thenumberofvomitingepisodesdecreasedin
both groups,andtherewasnosignificantdifferencebetweenthegroups.Inthegingergroup,29/35womenreportedan
improvement innauseasymptoms,comparedwith23/34womeninthevitaminB6group(p ¼ 0.52).
Conclusion: ginger ismoreeffectivethanvitaminB6forrelievingtheseverityofnausea,andisequallyeffectivefor
decreasing thenumberofvomitingepisodesinearlypregnancy.
