Thank you for your feedback regarding the rules and regulations of the company. On behalf of HR Team, I will take responsible for all the questions the employees have in regards with rules, regulation and work policy of the company.
First of all I have to say that I do agree with you on the nature of advertising business that sometimes we can’t finish things during working hours and quite often that we have to extend our extra time after 6 pm or even over weekend to complete them as we have a strong passion to deliver the best quality work to our clients. Frankly speaking with you that I have recognized the hard work and efforts that all of us put into work we have been dedicated to. For the case of working late at night and show up late on the following day or even take a day off to compensate is reasonable and can be applied in my point of view personally.
However, we still work in the organization where rules and regulation is apply for the goodness of all, one of the most important things that we have to show to everyone in our organization is that to take responsible for our own roles & responsibility as well as comply with rules and regulation promptly.
Managing organization and people performance is one of HR’s roles and responsibility, we have to encourage and support employees to work smoothly and follow the guideline comfortably. So, we have come up with the process for working late at night and being late on the following day as follow:-
1. Any employee who have to work late at night or over the weekend must write the email to Department Head and BU Director, state clearly on the project working on and cc HR with detail of how many hours to spend or have spent.
2. Complete timesheet promptly.
3. HR and Department Manager will consider and approve late attendance on the following day.
For the rest who have not worked late have to comply with working rules and be punctual. Disciplinary action will be put in place for those who do not follow promptly, no exception even myself.
As we knew that running digital business now is much more tough than in the past, we have to increase our capability and efficiency as much as we can. I hope you understand that we have to do or take some actions on this even it may hurt the feeling but if we don’t we may lose competitiveness in the future.
