I don't have any hard data , but it seems to me that , of late, there are more occasions when the lines at the teller windows are getting too long, especially at our busy times like at lunch and just before closing at six in the evening. Also, we seem to be having some trouble scheduling the right number of tellers at the right times. It's all right if we're a little over staffed at times because there are plenty of non-customer-related activities that the idle tellers can do : filing signature cards, filing loan documents, or helping out with some of the bookkeeping functions. If things get really backed up, we can get one of the people from "new accounts" to open a teller window and help out. Even the officers can pitch in to help (and they do) . Everyone here can do teller duty.
