Wireless Sensor Network consists of a large number of nodes in
heterogeneous / homogeneous sensors that communicates over the wireless
medium and works in cooperation to detect or monitor the environment. The
node detects the data from environment and sends this data to the gateway
node. We propose scattered restricted faulty sensor detection algorithm to
identify faulty sensor where each sensor identifies his own state of being
"good" or "faulty", which is then supported by their neighbors, and also check
the behavior of the node. The implementation complexity of the algorithm is
low and the probability of correct analysis is very high even in the survival of
large fault sets. To conclude with, the algorithm has been tested under
different number of faulty sensors. Our simulation results show that the time
taken to determine faulty nodes in our proposed algorithm is comparatively
less with a large number of defective sensors existing in the network.
