The isolate CBS 339.27 shows neither sporangia nor sexual reproduction. Sideris’s description is rather poor and confusing. From the pictures and according to Waterhouse (1967), the ornamentations seem to be conical and rather blunt. One or possibly two antheridia may be present, making broad contact with the oogonium. It is not clear whether the oospore is plerotic or aplerotic.
