The need for highly motivated employees is likely to remain strong as well. Motivated employees are those who are willing to be dedicated to working with focus and energy, and be highly productive. Highly motivated or highly engaged
employees, through their high levels of productivity, are able to contribute far more to the firm than those who are less motivated. Recent evidence suggests that perhaps only a minority of individuals are highly motivated (McKinsey, 2009). According to that McKinsey global study respondents indicated that only 29% of employees were ‘‘highly’’ motivated, while 62% were ‘‘moderately’’ motivated.
