Thallus of E. prunastri is foliose but attached at one point and appearing fruticose,
lobes often net-veined above, white beneath, soralia initially rounded, marginal
and/or laminal, later more extensive over thallus surface, apothecia rare,
shortly and stoutly stalked, disks red-brown. The color of E. prunastri ranges from
green to a greenish-white when dry, and dark olive-green to yellow-green when
wet. The texture of the thalli are rough when dry and rubbery when wet (Purvis
et al., 1992; Dobson, 2000).
