professionals including midwives, benefited from additional
education to enable them to provide healthy eating information.
Little is known regarding the extent to which midwives fulfil their
role in nutrition education. Thus the aim of this literature review is
to explore what has been investigated about the role of midwives
in providing nutrition education during pregnancy.
