Hi Parin,
I can understand the predicament but we have a good system that was never adhered. We have quarterly inventory check and no one notice or report this? Also, even if this lot placed in 1A warehouse (which means to be determined lot), even if it misses one quarter (it is a 3 months period), no one bother to find out or take any action?
You may have mentioned the owner’s responsibility and indeed, I will agree but it still lead to other responsible team member to remind or take action and not until 1 full year to report. In fact, if it is not for the crisis, I believe this lot will stayed forever without anyone wanting to take action on it. Anyhow, take this as a lesson learned as everything will lead to money, either gain or loss. For this case, it is an unnecessary losses.
Don’t despair, for JP’s lot of 3,306pcs, at least there is a chance to claim 946pcs real failures. Meantime, see how is this quarter bonpile first before you put all into it as I do not think we will have good results and in this situation, it would be advisable to split them i.e. put some into next quarter.
PS – Since this classic incident surfaced, I would recommend to review all unknown located at 1A warehouse and execute action when needed or this problem will prevailed. I will close this issue with Richard when he is here.
