2. Experimental
The isothermal processing experimentswere conducted inside a
chamber of 98mmdiameter, surrounded by superconducting magnet
with maximum field strength of 12 T. A furnace covered with
water-cooling jacket was designed to be able to move inside and
out of the magnetic field through a pulley-lifting gear. The specimens
were placed in the center of the furnace and could be heated
up to 1023 K. The magnetic field was applied during isothermal
processing.
Cylindrical specimens, 28mmin length and 9.8mmin diameter,
were machined from an Fe–C–Si–Mn wrought steel bar with nominal
composition 0.47 wt% carbon, 2.31 wt% silicon and 3.15 wt%
manganese. The wrought steel was prepared by forging the cast
