From 1950s to the end of 1960s, World Vision gave a direct help to sponsored children
individually, providing them with food, education, healthcare service and vocational training.
At the end of 1960s, however, World Vision learned a lesson from the 20 years of experience
that a community has to be developed first in order to transform the life of children in that
community. Based on this lessons, by 1970s, World Vision launched Commun Development
Projects in addition to child sponsorship. The projects have been carried out in an integrated way to provide drinking water, hygiene/healthcare and education, promote income growth and empower citizens, and as a result, it has fundamentally transformed a community where children can live a decent life as a human being. Also, the organization established Humanitarian & Emergency Affairs(HEA) team to carry out a rapid and effective responses to people
sufferingfrom disasters in the world using its global network.
