Table 1 shows for which of the
hearing status measures these subgroup effects were significant.
Furthermore, higher baseline hearing-status scores were
significantly associated with higher social loneliness scores
at follow-up for those living with a partner in the household,
those with a medium or high education, those with a medium
or high income, and non–hearing aid users. No statistically
significant associations were observed between hearing status
and depression.
