Well bred children, especially young ladies, should never talk to strangers. If they do so, they may well end up as dinner for a wolf. The wolf is metaphoric in this sense as wolves are symbolic to the dangers of strangers. They come off as charming quiet polite complacent and sweet. They also pursue young women both at their homes and in the streets. It is these gentle wolves that post the most danger of all.
