The results of the study indicate that interaction between bloggers was limited. The subjects rarely commented on each other’s blog and their comments were not conversational in nature. Most students approached the blogging activity as a necessary evil (posting comments on blogs was one of the course requirements) and posted the minimum number of entries, each entry being fairly short yet sufficient to get a passing grade. Furthermore, the frequency of posting both entries and comments was very low. Very few students initiated interaction with their classmates by posting comments on their blogs. Even when comments were posted, they were isolated in nature and did not invite other bloggers to participate in discussion. Hence, increasing collaboration between foreign language learners through blogging activities proved to be impossible to achieve.
