Under normal conditions, TOA, SO4 2−and HSO4
− react to each other and generate a corresponding amine salt in the aqueous phase, and the amine salt has a limited solubility in kerosene, which leads to the decrease ofthe distributioncoefficient and to the generation of a third phase. TBP has the ability of adjusting the polarity of the organic phase which gives rise to the solubility ofthe amine salt
complex. And the increase of solubility improves the distribution coefficients of Fe(III) and sulfuric acid.
