Author biographies
Philip Barker is Professor of Applied Computing and Research Director of the Interactive Systems Research Group within the School of Computing and Mathematics at Teesside Polytechnic. His research group is actively involved in research in four major areas of applied computing science: human‐computer interaction, knowledge engineering, applications of artificial intelligence and the design of interactive learning systems. He has published several books and many papers in each of these areas.
Susan Giller is a Courseware Development Officer working with the Interactive Systems Research Group within the School of Computing and Mathematics at Teesside Polytechnic. She is responsible for conducting research and development into electronic books based upon digital optical storage technologies. Her post is funded by the Department of Employment through the Training, Enterprise and Education Directorate. She is currently completing her MPhil dissertation which documents her research studies relating to electronic book production
