Eddie Huang (traditional Chinese:黃頤銘;simplified Chinese:黄颐铭) was born March 1, 1982 in Washington, D.C., to immigrant parents from Taiwan. His ancestral home is located in Hunan, China. He was raised in Orlando, Florida, where his father managed a successful group of steak and seafood restaurants.[2] Huang identified with African-American culture, especially hip-hop, at a young age.[2] He attended The University of Pittsburgh, Rollins College and graduated with a B.A. He earned a J.D. from Cardozo School of Law (Yeshiva University).[3]
