The objective of the present study was to quantify the effects of some forest
plantation species (Azadiracta indica, Eucalyptus camaldulensis and Prosopis
juliflora) on dry matter production by common agricultural crops (Zea mays,
Sorghum vulgare and Arachis hypogea) in the Sahel region of Nigeria. It is hoped
that the information would assist in selecting promising species, and developing
highly productive, sustainable and ecologically stable agroforestry systems for
the region.
