The general composition of perilla

The general composition of perilla seed oil used in both formulations is presented in Table 1. Two different
types of capsules containing perilla seed oil were used in the study, the enteric coated Entrox capsules (Carolwood
Corporation) and uncoated capsules (Meduna GmbH). The capsules with enteric coating contained
54.9% ALA and non-enteric coated capsules contained 52.2% ALA. A single dose of Entrox formulation was
22 capsules containing 274.5 mg ALA per each 500 mg capsule (total dose 11 g containing 6.039 g ALA). A
single dose of non-coated product was 23 capsules containing 261 mg ALA per each 500 mg capsule (total
dose 11.5 g containing 6.003 g ALA).
