Considering the advantages of microalgae, the present study is designed to integrate microalgae cultivation as tertiary treatment or polishing process for recovering residual carbon/nutrients from sequential batch reactor (SBR) treated real field pharmaceutical wastewater (RPWT). The study intended to explore the potential of microalgae to utilize the wastewater for the production of biomass during mixotrophic growth phase and lipid synthesis under stress condition in correlation with effect of light (complete light and dark conditions).
